Practice How to Read Tarot Cards with Me

Practice Reading Tarot Cards with Learn Tarot With Me
This week’s tarot reading practice is going to be a fun one! We’re doing something a little bit different…

If you’re not familiar with these practice tarot readings, every week I create a little story with a pretend querent and a pretend question. Then I pull a 3-card tarot spread and do a short reading.

It’s a great way for me (and you!) to practice reading tarot cards without the stress of trying to read for a real person. I don’t know about you, but that still freaks me out.

Let’s pretend…you are asked by one of your tarot idols to participate in an Instagram challenge. The theme is about combining tarot and creativity.

So, this week you’ll be reading for yourself, and here’s the question to use…

How can I become more creative in my life, using the tarot?

Here’s the cards, as they are laid out:

What Tarot Spread Do You Use?

I like to use a different 3-card spread interpretation each week, so I can practice using different ones. I haven’t found my favorite yet.

This week, this is the interpretation I decided to go with:

  • Card 1 – Start doing this
  • Card 2 – Stop doing this
  • Card 3 – Continue doing this

Use whatever spread you feel comfortable with. If you want some other ideas, here’s a huge listing of other 3-card tarot spreads.

What Do You See?

Ugh, I see The Death card and the Five of Pentacles – two cards that skew towards the negative.

What Do You Feel?

Rather unsettled with all of those people in need. It feels oppressive, but also hopeful.

Putting It All Together

Since this is a post for Instagram, I tried to keep my reading very concise. Here’s how I respond to the challenge question:

Rathering than adding even more creativity in my life, I need to be more generous and more accepting of gifts that come into my life. I need to stop being so afraid of change. And I need to continue moving towards my dreams, no matter how hard it gets. If I want to become more creative in my life, I need to commit to it, and make it a focus and priority.

What do you think? Would you have read these cards differently?
